I've been Jonesing for a Track Day.  Thinking of This one.  Taking my girl to the track If the times work out.  Just putting the feeler out there.  Seeing if there's any other riders interested. I'll probably start out in B+ Just to wet my whistle.  Then move into A group. It's much safer there.  I'll be the slowest one.  Won't have to worry about someone doing something more stupid than me. It would be nice to get about 6 or 8 riders to go.  We might even get a discount.  Even so Track Days are like doing your favorite road over and over again with your friends.

It's supposed to be the West track only $180.00 a day.  Good price for a weekend day.  I remember it being $225.00 for a weekend.  So $180.00 is Just $30.00 more than the old weekday price I remember.  It said there are 10 turns. I hope they mean 14.  Oh well.  If it's  a little shorter It's still a track day.  Post up if your even thinking about it. I've been trying to convince Green Machine to come.  But I hate the way he belittles me.  It wouldn't hurt so bad if it wasn't true.  I just have to get my skills better to out run a Honda Fit in the dark.
I'll take my '04 GSXR750 out of moth balls and the girlfriend will ride the SV650.

In case others might be interested, where?  I assume T-hill?

I'm retired from trackdays, otherwise I'd love to go.  It was a blast to go when I was younger.

I wont be at that event; I'll be out of town.

How about October 6 & 7 instead? It's a weekend on the 3 mile East track and it's still $180 if you get the early bird price before 9/6. If you do actually manage to get 8 people, the price would come down to $157.50.

The West track only has 10 turns. I mean, I guess it depends on how you count, but only 10 named turns. When they do the West track in reverse on Sunday, they cut out a section and there are only 7 turns.

Well  Suzanne can't make that date in Sept. So it looks like October would be better. When she gets back today we're going to discuss it.

And yes it's Thunderhill Track.  My bad Green Machine.  Thanks for helping me get it straight.

Dub. Would you clarify the track configurations. I'm familiar with the old track of 14 turns.  All this east and west has be confused.  I know they added to the old track. but i'm assuming I could still to the old track before the addition? I assume all that has changed.  The very first Thunderhill track only had 10 turns. You turned in off of turn 7 and headed to the front straightaway.  Could you post the configurations that they are talking about.  I can't see them on the Keigwin's home page..   Thank you.

YO Eskiemong.  I knew you'd post up sooner or later.  22slow is busy 15th and 16th.  BUT 6TH AND 7TH Is looking very good. Can you call me and tell me this track configuration of only 10 turns on the west side please.

Just check out their website, they list all track configurations. You could also google it and watch YouTube videos.

This is the 15 corner East track you know and love. This configuration has been the same for many years now.

This is the newer West track which you probably haven't seen yet.

Normal direction is counter clockwise. Reverse is clockwise, and you skip turns 10, 9,  and 8 and just go straight to turn 7.

There's no way the layout designer for T-hill is in any way related to the 3 y.o. who designed Laguna Seca.  Either of the T-hill layouts would be more interesting to watch and challenging for the riders than LS's simplistic endless succession of elbows.

Thank You so much dub. I thought that was it but want sure.  So when do they do the full track? Or do they?

They do the full track, but rarely. We only had one day on that configuration this year on July 1st. It don't know about the other providers. It's expensive because, obviously, they can't rent out both tracks simultaneously when someone uses the full track. It also requires additional tow, medical, and flaggers. So that's why full 5-mile days are infrequent.

The 5 mile is also really really long. I cant remember how many exactly, but I feel like you only get a few laps around the whole thing before the session in over.
If I remember it didn't flow really well either. It didn't feel like one cohesive tracks, but rather two seperate tracks that you went back and forth between. I would rather do one or the other. Just my opinion though. I think I have only run it once.

Red leader. Thank you for your insight.  I actually looked on Keigwins website for track configurations. Didn't see any link.

I did the 5 mile track at Miller in Utah. Wow. Was it wonderful.  Track flowed together very well. Sessions were 30 minutes long.  Only 2 groups. It was the best track experience of all my track days ever.  Thunder hill is such an awesome facality is hard to believe they didn't make it flow together.  I have to admit Thunder hill is one of my favorite tracks.  I would choose it over Sears, Buttonwillow and some times over Laguna.  Miller is definitely my favorite.   Thanks again for your in site.  Come on out to the track in October. Let's get some of our crew out there.  Eskiemong is all over the track day thing.  She's going to be passing me soon and I'm not looking forward to it.  But l am looking forward to spending time with her and 22slow at the track.  Hopefully you can come out that weekend.

I'm bringing the Scrimshaw for dub.
