That should be right up Vr's alley.  Not mine though.  It appears too narrow.  Kind of reminds me of the old east section of La Porte.

I'm currently in Idaho, made it to Boise in 5.5 hours, 430 miles.  I don't want to deviate going up to Weaverville but I may try reversing the route and see if falling on a different day may get us a better rate in Fortuna

Any update if Sonora is open?

Yes, it is open

you won't even need snow tires.  dooeeeeettt.

This is very confusing as to where anyone intends to go.  Is Bear River the first  night stop?  I assume Saturday eve?

I am trying to co-ordinate a place where I can tow over to Redding/ Red Bluff and join group there.  Try to firm up route so I can offer meeting places............

RG, don't sweat the details.  There's always rooms available inland.  You and I can share a double queen/twin room.

This will be a log of miles for you.  We're going to have to break you in tomorrow for staying in the saddle longer.

Yes. sat evening is the 1st night. Since Tioga is open, now I can make plans on spending the night in the Bay Area then hit Mt. Hamilton and Sonora. Or one of those passes to get me back on the other side of the Sierras

Not sure if you ment Sonora Pass. Tioga Pass hwy 120 is still closed.

I thought I saw a news article that Tioga just opened this past Monday.  If that's the case, Yosemite is back on the table.

RichVee4

CalTrans website.  Still list Tioga as closed as of now but this heat should help with the snow melt off.

Looking forward to this one Vr.  And so you're aware, I believe RG and I are sticking to riding 36, 1, 3, and possibly 299, in that area, so up north.  As much fun as staying in the city and crossing through Yosemite sounds, I'm going to save those adventures for another trip.  :D

Wade68 and I will be heading down south, from the Lost Coast on down on Sunday.  At least the four of us, well three from Reno can hit 36 together on Saturday.  Are you guys still winging it as far as the lodging?  Wade68 and I are splitting a room at the casino in Fortuna where I have made reservations.

How's a 7 AM departure sound from the North Meetup on Saturday morning?

GreenMachine

It's your ride.  Start it when you want.  I'm probably going to wing it.  Sounds like Dragon wants in too, but he hasn't posted so who knows.  RG said he was going to just meet us in Red Bluff on Saturday.  Let 's hope he's still in and gonna meet up as he said.

What route you taking to Red Bluff?  I-80 to Hwy 20 to 99?  I-80 to 89 to 70 to La Porte or stay on 70 past Quincy?  Or Downieville to Marysville and up?

I was thinking 80-89-70-through Quincy and 89 again along Lake Almanor then to 36.  0700 departure seems good, prefer getting to Fortuna earlier than later.  Wade88 is determining where our fuel stops will be, trying to be between 125-150.  My range is 200 miles tops, but will be carrying extra 1 gal for emergency.

GreenMachine

I don't think you're going to need to bring extra fuel on this one, unless you just like carrying the extra weight.

7:00 AM departure sounds good to me too.  Forecast to be 64 by then, already.  Like the route too.  I've never had the bike up by Almanor.  My early June ride was planned to go that route, but I ended up too many hours behind schedule to safely navigate deer lined roads in the dark.

Dragon said he was going on this one.  Haven't heard from RG either.  I hate this last minute waiting.  It makes it so difficult to make plans.

Vr, do you have a Google map of your routes for Sat & Sun?

What's this last minute shit?  I asked to firm the ride up last week and GM says "don't sweat the details".  Still confused, are you headed to 36 first, on to coast and then to Fortuna?, or straight to Fortuna?  This is answer I need so I can choose a convenient place to meet up with you characters.....

VR seems more concerned on where he is sleeping than where the route goes.
