that has to be KPH not MPH... the signs aren't passing fast enough...   170 KPH is 105 MPH

After watch CSI I decited to give this a crack.
I think it is MPH, note the speedo doesn't go over 185mph.  The limiter hits in at 185.  105mph would be first gear at 12,000 RPM'S.  He clearly goes through a few gears.  185 =300 KPM(around).  It does look a little slow.  I bet he regeared it lower with a 520 conversion, which is very common, -1 +3. Without a speedo healer his bike would show 180mph at around super low160;s or less.  This is the speed at RFR's main strait.
At the Bullys bike night with SPL, when they brought their dyno. I saw a 08 cbr 1000 actual top speed at 178mph (I have to say my zx10r went 192 actual). That would even make it less MPH and would cause the speedo to be a little more jumpy too.
To me it seems like the speed is 140- 150 which seem accurate with the hondas speedo stating 165-170.
     Am I right?
Who agree's I have way too much time on my hands.

Havok or whatever posted that is "his" crew and they GPS those mph were pretty accurate on the 1000rr forum... but who knows...

*raises hand*

Yeah, but think how fast the flag station passes at 150mph and watch those signs.  Just doesn't add up to me...

The top speed is governed at 178mph. For some reason the 08 also has a limiter (timing) over 10,000 RPMs. This keeps about 5-6 HP out of the upper RPM band. I fixed that with a timing calibrator, but see no need to go over 178, so that will be left alone for now.

Here I just proved it.  This is the same bike with KPM selected on the speedo.  The kph/mph is in different places on the speedo.  Kph which you can see is directly over the right digit(this video) and mph over the middle digit on the orignal.  I was impossible to read on the orignal.  I love to prove Putz wrong. ;D
I have way too much time.
