To All,
I did a rock climbing seminar in Bear Valley this past weekend and discovered a great ride. There is a road just about two miles west of Bear Valley that leads to the Spicer Reservoir (turn left of off 4)....a perfect place for swimming, hiking, and climbing. You also get a nice view of the Stanislaus River from the top of the dam. There you'll find good 5/7 5/8 climbs including the Venus Fly Trap. Anyway, the road to the reservoir is a great twisty in perfect shape and seldom traveled or patrolled. The road is also very uniform and rides like racetrack pavement as it is very smooth. Just thought I'd let everyone know. I suggest taking the ride when the sun is high to imporve visibility as there is the possibility of wandering deer.

Wow sounds like a new ride for the club. I like that. I'll have to try it just before labor day. How long is the road? and is the water very cold?
