DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (August 5, 2010) - A new rider has joined the ranks of the 2010 MotoConnect.net Pole Award contenders in this year's AMA Pro National Guard SuperBike series.  With his pole position at the recent Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca round, Ben Bostrom brings the number of riders that have taken pole positions in the 2010 season up to four.  And with five different race winners this year, the SuperBike series is better than ever.

The battle for the $10,000 MotoConnect.net Pole Position Award is still wide open with three rounds remaining.  Ben Bostrom, riding his Pat Clark Motorsport Yamaha took a hard fought pole position after battling with Team Graves Yamaha rider Josh Hayes for the top spot on the grid at Laguna Seca.  Hayes currently leads the competition for the $10,000 MotoConnect.net Award with three pole positions, just ahead of sidetracked rider Aaron Yates who is recovering from an early season injury after taking the first two pole positions of the year.  Bostrom is tied with Rockstar Makita Suzuki rider Blake Young who took his single pole position earlier this year at Road Atlanta.

Yates is expected back on his Team Jordan Suzuki and he will assuredly challenge Hayes for the MotoConnect.net Award.  Blake Young also missed a couple of races and he is ready to rejoin the fray and put his name at the top of the time charts.

The next three races will tell the story.  The first test will be the Aug 13-15 race at Virginia International Raceway where Hayes took the pole position last year.  Following VIR will be the September 3-5 race at New Jersey Motorsports Park where Hayes, Yates and Bostrom sat two, three, four on the grid behind pole winner Mat Mladin.  The story was the same for the final race of the 2010 season at Barber Motorsports Park where Mladin held the pole just ahead of Young.  So, if the form book is anything to go by, no one has a clear advantage for the exciting battle for the $10,000 season ending prize from MotoConnect.net, the global motorsports community web portal that was created for races by racers.
