Well, I just got these dates and will be traveling there and stay probably in a tent, (yes folks, the have hot shower and real bathrooms there). I will have a trailer and can carry possibly 3 bikes and riders.
They have them listed for $ 170 (Mondays) and $ 150 (Tuesdays).
Save some money and let's GOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
The 4th and 5th are for sale on Barf for $ 150 and $ 125

I may just be interested in one or both of these 'weekends'.
I have monday/tuesday off work through April, so it works out well.

I will probably go on Tuesday, April 5th & 26th. Great price if the weather holds. Working up some mods on my bike. I ordered a Penske 8983 shock today! Considering a rearset.

I enjoyed the short time we rode together as well. Hopefully I'll get to turn some more laps with you this season.
These dates will have to be a game-time decision for me. Depends on the weather, it's quite unpredictable in April. I probably wont be loading up the bike and traveling through the mountains in a driving snow storm. :)
I'll be there with you Alberto. I hope Youngster makes it so we can give him some lessons. :clap
I am gonna decide last minuate, and the only thing that will stop me is the weather... "April showers bring May flowers" :r6y

I agree, that is exactly what I am thinking. But, that saying is real old, and I don't think it pertains to April any more, more like March, I hope! ;)
Now I have doubts about the early April dates.... :-[
Thunderhill is generally nice in April. It's not like Reno. The biggest problem is getting over the hill.
Only about a month away....oil change: check!; tires: check!; new paint: almost check!; much skinnier than last year.......hmmm maybe?!
Still interested. Watching weather and waiting.
Tomorrow I'm gonna request these days off. I'll let you know folks! I'm exciting to see everybody again. Now Thunderhill it is closer for me then for you guys... ;D

Next year? Come on man, we are at the beginning of the year and you already gave up !!!!
Alright, alright. Maybe I should've explained it a little better... Those cheap "midweek" days for me are a no go for the moment. I would definitely be able to do one of those during the summer (after June 6th) in case some good soul :angel is willing to give me and my bike room on their transportation (which Alberto and Paul - if my recollection is right, right Paul? - already mentioned they would). The same applies to weekend dates because I dont think i'll be able to get a trcuk this year... that's why i said "maybe next year"
Another downside (as we spoke already, my friend Rick) is that I dont know if I am supposed to do the novice school for those new tracks. If so, that would be really tough once those "schools" are not cheap at all! Could anybody here clarify this for me, please? I mean, I am not a terrible rider but never ridden on those tracks before and like to take it easy on things I do for the first time. Will I HAVE to do the novice school??? ???
Miss all you guys!
You don't have to do the novice school to ride with Keigwins. He offers it for people who want to improve their skills with more track time and one on one instruction. You've done trackdays before so all you have to do is sign up.
And start going faster than ever...... ;D

Thanks Greg. So I guess I would be considered a B- rider or something like that... I'll take a better look at their website and find more information about it. By the way, thanks for the answer about the redbull price stuff. I never replied it... :-X

I should be ready to roll for the 26th!
JP - It might be best to start out following somebody. Take your time and get up to speed as the day progresses. Thunderhill is a fast, flowing track, with great rhythm. You'll wonder why you waited so long!

+1 Great track. Referecnce points, reference points, reference points... will help the track flow, reduce tunnel vision and make it easier to gain confidence as your pace picks up throughout the day. Because the track is faster... crashes there tend to hurt more. Not to scare you, but to keep your focus on your riding [what you're doing and when you're doing it] and being SMOOTH. Don't worry much about your speeds or lap times. Did I mention reference points?

Watching like a hawk. Long range models are notoriously inaccurate as the rapidly changing weather patterns of spring are hard to forecast. 7 days out we should have a pretty solid idea of the weather for the 4th and 5th.

No doubt about that. Everybody that knows me knows that I like to take it easy, sometimes too much easy... ;D But I rather be safe, my school insurance sucks! But thanks for the tip. I'll definitely start up following an instructor and getting a feeling about the track lines and reference points as the day goes on, working on each corner at a time...

Reference points?? What is it?? ;D ;D Jokes apart, you are right my friend, SMOOTHness seems to be the key on the track and that will be my next goal...not forgetting about the reference points, of course...
Hopefully I'll be able to ride along with you guys on those tracks and use one tip or a thousand from fellow riders.

Hey Guys I signed up for B group. Everybody is going to B, right? Let me know, please. I still have time to change it.
AlsoI need a ride to THill from the Bay area, somebody know who could help me? I share the expenses....
i went to T-hill through PTT just this last monday with a few reno guys! getting over the pass was cake both ways- sunday afternoon and monday evening.
weather was perfect at 60 degrees and sunny. a light breeze mid morning disappeared after lunch. i rode A group at an average of 2:13-2:15. there was no shortage of traction.. in fact i think i turned some of the smoothest and most confident laps of my life at T hill on monday!
i blew my wad of track day funds for at least another month or so by going to buttonwillow at the beginning of march, then t-hill on monday, so im out, but i will probably be in for whatever you guys set up next!!
gotbluemilk had the day's pics up within hours.. it will take me another week before i throw down a youtube video from my gopro!

Yeah, I'm pretty convinced it's gonna be nice. I'm planning on riding Tuesday. But, I'm just a little concerned that I have too much going on at the moment. I'm in the middle of moving into a new place and I need to do a little work on the bike. Hopefully I can pull it off. I'll be signing up in B.

I'll be arrriving Monday night and staying in the paddock if I can get in (will it be open?), or just outside the gate.
Just signed up, I'll be there.
Do you have a room from me? I'd like to sleep there...
There's always plenty of room when you sleep in the great outdoors like I do.
Okay, thank you.
But I don't have anything. (tent and stuffs)
I changed both days for "A" group. I wanna ride with my buddy Alberto.

You are currently signed up for B+ group, at least that's what you asked for. If you want to change it just let Lance know. Also with Keigwins if they aren't full you can usually group jump a little bit. Lance doesn't mind as long as long as it doesn't affect the riders of other groups.

How many do they allow in a group?
Lance's formula is about 17 riders per mile. So, 17x3.3= around 56. This number also includes his instructors. I believe he also allows for VIP pass holders. Having the pass means you can ride in any one group for the day, even if it's sold out. Since there are 8 of us he probably fits that into his equation. To be honest I've never seen more than 50 people per group at a Keigwins day. In the morning it's usually more full but in the afternoon I've never had a problem group jumping (except the Infineon day before an AFM weekend, Lance has very strict rules about that day).

You probably won't be able to in the morning but in the afternoon you shouldn't have any problem riding in two groups. Just wait until the fourth session or later and try. The grid marshals are pretty cool and they will let you know if you can run in a second group or not.

Well it sure was an amazing time, got down to 2:14's lap times and I think I can shave quite a few seconds still. On a less joyful note my engine blew up on the last session of Tuesday. Damn!! I loved that bike. Time for a new engine...I guess! Chip was there and even Dean. I truly enjoy the company of everyone that made it there from Reno, Rick, you sure are a fast devil and Dub, you picked up a lot of speed (and a R6) since I rode with you last time!!
