My speedometer started displaying random numbers while driving today. It will not display the correct speed anymore. Does anyone know what the problem might be?
It is a 2009 Ducati Monster 696 with 110 miles on the clock.
is the bike under warranty at Michaels?
Yes it is.
My track bike does the same thing. It gets to 120 and starts going backwards from there :\
I don't even know how speedo's work on bikes anymore so would be interested in hearing the possibilities too.

That's not a problem with the speedo, that's a problem with your right wrist. ;)

ahahaha...that's a good one! LOL
Actually, there is nothing wrong with the wrist. It's the nuts between the brain and throttle that are missing.
It turns out that with the mph being high, my odometer was also ticking up faster than it should. I ended up putting 80 miles on in the 10 miles it took to get to the dealership.
>:(
So what was the problem?
