Title: testing a starter
Post by: karneybo on May 22, 2011, 04:46:21 PM
How would test a starter that's removed from the bike to see if she works.  Ground starter body then hot shot the batt wire to battery or just hot shot the batt wire to battery.

You have to ground the frame to the negative terminal on the battery.  Otherwise it won't work.

You don't need frame.
You just connect + from battery to + on starter and negative from battery to body of starter.
Hold starter or it will jump :)

Sorry if I wasn't clear.  I meant frame of starter.
