I found that riding on the track and riding on the road are two very separate things.  That said, the track does makes you a better/safer rider by proving that the bike is infinitely more capable than we'd otherwise believe.  It leans further, and stops faster, and can be redirected quicker than the majority of street riders understand.  Ask someone if the track days helped save there skin on the street.  The track is where it's at.  In fact I'm starting a new post about this!
