My first track day and looooooooooking forward to it. Was just wondering what config. we are running. Was also wondering about water wetter or water it has been at or below freezing up here. Can you get away with not doing it or is it a must. I am doing infenion at the end of october so I have to do it then but that is a weekend event for me so I will do it once I get off the hill to none frezing temps.

Cool man. Your gonna love it. On the water wetter, at RFR they do NOT require it due to the temp swings here. On the config, I believe it will be C, but I will confirm that and get back to you.

hi guys just wanted to say im ok and im just a frickn idiot so far all i have is a brokin pinky on left hand and a miled concusion. my wife is takn care of me really good. i am so soar. I just got in over my head and forgot to stay focused. went in too hot and got scared. totaly my fault i feel like an idiot. but im alive thanks to the gear i bought. bike is totaled but im not ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D. scared the shit out of me. I feel like such an idiot, but im alive thanks to the gear.
Glad to hear your ok... That is always the best news :) :) :).. Your pinky must be doing ok then since youre already on the computer :P All the best...
no, steel pins. i think 2 in my left hand other than that just the small of my back hurts like hell. and alot of pride cuz im stupid. thank god for gear. but im alive ;D ;D ;D
your bike sure put up a fight trying to get it onto the trailer ;) glad to hear you faired relatively well. Shows how much can change in just a split second. hopefully we will see you back on the track for next season!
It will hurt more before it will get better. I saw all the jagged rocks you missed with your body while picking up your manguled mess up at lunch, though you may have hit some I didn"t hear. It look like you got out easy with a broken pinky, looked like, how do you say in english, "certin death", ya that is it. Look on the bright side you can get the track bike that you want. It will be easer to take the conner with a 150 pound less bike.
Yeah what he said. And Quit hammering yourself. We all make mistakes we feel like it was stupid. But sometimes we have to learn the hard way. Cut yourself some slack. You wouldn't stand for anyone else to talk to you that way. So give yourself some respect. You did make it this time. So now you know. There you go. Don't do it no MOE.
Happy to hear your doing well. Take some Advil and call it a day my friend and be Kool.
i'm pretty sure all of us track riders have, at one time or another, did something silly and paid the price for it. i know i have! you just learn from it and move on. ;)
heal up, dude!
Mike - Glad you are okay. Alan and I were right behind you. We have been worried and asking how you are. Don't beat yourself up so bad (you did a good enough job of that yesterday). Everyone starts somewhere and we learn from mistakes. The important thing is that you are okay. Sorry about the bike but glad it was that and not you. Take care of yourself.
How you say??...SH*T happens. Look at me I ran out gas (second time this season) and looked like a squid out there :D. Boy, I never heard the end of it and I am sure it will soon show up on the website ;)
Kidding aside, my Mama use to say :"what does'nt kill you make you stronger". So stop beating yourself up and just think of it as a learned lesson (it means you cannot crash on turn 1B anymore, just the on the other 22).
So keep your head up, you'll come back stronger than you've ever been ;)
ps I also experienced RFR from an horizontal point of view...TWICE!!
Yea buddy dont sweat it :) sucked it happened to you. i crashed my first trackday.... although nowhere near yours but still a lesson learned. bikes can be fixed or replaced but your life you can never get back once you lose it. Heal quick hope to see you next season... dont let this keep you down :)
p.s. atleast you didnt run outta GAS!!!!! lol
oh, hey, i almost forgot... who forgot their jacket in the building? i brought it home.. send me a PM or email or gimme a call or something.
Thanks for posting up. Glad to hear your going to be ok. Keep your head up man, as everyone had said already, it happens to the best of us. 8)

I knew that was coming ::)
Glad your ok. Just chalk it up to a learning experience. At least you were finding your limits, you could have been the dummy that went down on cold tires. ;D
You need to stop being so hard on yourself too Dave...shit happens...to ALL of us ;)
For what it's worth...your one of the nicest people on the track...you have plenty of good karma in the bank so your allowed to make a mistake and not have to feel bad about it :)
yea glad you werent hurt.
so what do people think of using the SSA pull at RFR to ask RFR to improve the infield on the inside of turns 1, 2, 3 and 4? My first trackday experience was last october and I witnessed a guy going off 1-a into the same area as MtmTriumph (in a straight line from 1-a to 3). He was lucky in that he did not hit the ditch but he ran over a lot of rock.
I went off at 1 on my very fist track day this year and luckily on the outside they had cleared off a path for exactly that reason. It was smooth sailing through the dirt for me and I did not go down and popped out at 1-b (I was told that this was an improvement made last year). But I would not have wanted to go off on the inside like what happened this weekend.
That part of the track needs some serious grooming and improvement of the run-off area. The ditch and the rocks need to GO! Anyone missing turn 1-b is going to suffer the same fate as what happened this weekend in my opinion. I also don't know if the part of the track is the way it is due to the MotoX guys but it is a pretty dangerous part of the track to go off on due to the speeds at the end of the straight.
Just my opinion...but it would be nice if we (motorcycles) could get that part of the infield made to be a little friendlier to guys trying to motocross their street bikes at 100+mph.
Thanks guys. Im glad I walked away from that one. The wife made me go to the hospital when I got home, man what a long night. Ended up with some stitches on my arm,a fractured elbow, sprained wrist and a crazy bruise on my tail bone. All in all not to bad. The bike seemed to take the most damage. Thank god it happened at the end of the season. ;D
Happy to hear you went to get checked out Dave. I wish I could say something good about your get off on turn 1. I'm just happy your OK. I kinda like having you around.
I'm definitely glad everyone who went down are ok. Best of luck on a quick recovery and hope to see you all out there again soon.

Get a tractor out there to smooth that area out with some real deep sand (so you don't run across into oncoming bikes). It's just a matter of time till all the runoff areas are fixed up. Glad to hear you're OK.
