Best of luck! Diane and I will be making trips to Reno for some of Albertos cookery. Is it at all possible that this can be positive?

It is not a postive thing when a good and decent hard working person is forced to make incredibly hard decisions to save his business because a few bastards see a stimulous as a way to rip off the public and local town while lining thier pockets with $100 bills.

Well, if he can find a new location and make it work, grow his business... and yes, it is possible for it to be good in the end.

Yes, but there are sure to be plenty of headaches and sleepless nights even if it does turn out to be a good move.....

Ofcourse, we can find out that La Vecchias was perched atop a huge fault line, or that any new move creates loads of new opportunities. . .
But, I think when someone who has long range plans that are all finally taking shape, suddenly has to reverse, rethink, and recalculate it's REALLY overwhelming.   In time, I think the positives will begin to emerge, but it's just so fresh now, that sleepless nights is probably more the norm.

We're thinking about you, Alberto.

It seems pretty clear who's running Reno.  I've always hated casinos and go out of my way to avoid those huge sucking places.  Pushing the little guy out to make room for the casinos is the wrong way to go.  Are they even compensating you for taking your land?

Sorry, Alberto.  I wish I could do more, but I'm no longer a resident.  I'll get over there to eat on my next trip to Reno.

Folks, if you're not registered to vote, go do so now.  Remember who has allowed this to happen and vote them out, please.

I'm not clear as to why they would need to open three lanes west of Kietzke.  Sure, between I-395 and Kietzke, but beyond just doesn't make sense.

La Vecchia must not bring in enough tax revenue to warrant saving or it's proof that Al's Italian ties are not of the mobster yesteryear.  We could plant a holy tree, tie ourselves to it and claim the site is holy ground.

It's about the money.  What was the question?
It's about taking in the most corners to your destination, not about the shortest, quickest route.

Moana needs six lanes like Reno needs another casino.  Makes me sick.  I hope they choke on their kickbacks.

When I checked around about the change it seems the Alantis is expanding towards Moana and needs the increased traffic to make it feasable to the bank. Sorry about that, money wins again.

I hope they get run over trying to cross 6-lane Moana about 4 years from now.

I just counted it's 2 lanes westbound on Moana.
Eastbound Moana will have two right hand turn lanes to go South on Virginia. (Where Alberto's place now stands)
2 Lanes going straight AND two lanes to make a left (for northbound on Virginia traffic.
It is  actually 8 lanes at the interection. sheesh

I appreciate all the support, I will put forth my best effort to find the good in this situation and try and stay positive. No doubt having my wonderful and loving family, as well as good friends (that's you guys), will be key to help me turn whatever is coming my way into a new, and who knows, maybe even better way for me to make a living. I am pretty tough when it come to surviving. BTW anyone knows where I can get a small airplane license quickly ;D??

hate to tell you but if that is the case then this whole thing is illegal. The Gov't cannot take private property for another's private use. It has to be taking of Private property for "public" use. Whin it happens there must be just compensation. There are recent Supreme Court cases that say you cannot take private and give or use fir other private gain. Just say'n

Well....................  I dont think you really want to do that. It will only end badly for you.  But if you really want to know how to fly its pretty easy.  Getting the plane started is kinda tough if you dont know how.  Taxing is kinda hard cuz you steer with your feet. Taking off is a bit of a challenge but easier than landing. Once your in the air any monkey can fly. I could help you with all of this.  But you gotta promise to not do anything stupid!!!!!  Oh and getting your license isnt cheap.  I got all the way up to doing my Cross County which is the final step to getting a basic private license and spent about $7800 bucks.  Its probably closer $9,000 or $10,000 now but this is dependant on how quickly you learn.

You know what I think I will just decline my offer.  We have never met and I dont want to meet you under those circumstances. Not to mention the fact that I dont want to be responsible for you doing something stupid.  So.......... If your as mentally tough as you say you are, you will make your way through this and possibly for the better.

What day is the date the city wants La Vecchia closed?

Second I think we should totaly form a human chain around the building as protest. It won't stop anything but it will bring more attention to this BS and maybe hurt the re-election of some of those asses. I think we will need about 100 people. Several of us here at BVH are in.
