Is anyone thinking about going to the Z2 track day? I'm thinking about driving over Sunday and back Monday night if my SV is ready. I'd have room for 1 or 2 more bikes in the trailer. It looks like the weather may cooperate. Shoot me an email if you're going.
Jay Avansino is checking his schedule, he may go too. I'll let you know for sure.
I really hope to make this day..... $200 on a monday?? anybody have coupons? ;D
Z2 site says no refunds within 2 weeks. With the weather as it is I'm paying when I show up. Haven't heard of anybody selling passes.
Found out this morning that the SV isn't ready yet, so I guess I'll miss this one.
I might be in. . .
Hard to pass up. Two group format. I need to re-up my NRS and if I do on Monday that will be personal instruction for 30 min sessions all day at the track I have the least experience with.
Does Z2 require you to run water instead of antifreeze in the radiator?

That is mostly up to the track...but instead of having it change from place to place, Z2 always just requires you to run water or water wetter.
hehehe.... I cant wait for monday! come on guys, get ur bikes out there and get it! :P

Z2
No glycol-based coolants. That means no anti-freeze. Replace anti-freeze with plain water or water with Water Wetter. Most of us live in California: there is no need for anti-freeze here and Water Wetter has better heat-transfer properties (i.e. your bike runs cooler). You can get Water Wetter at almost any motorcycle supply store (Cycle Gear, Road Rider, Zoom Cycles, your local motorcycle dealership, etc). If your coolant is green it has to be replaced. Note: we are allowing Engine Ice on a trial basis.
Thanks for the info about coolant
My next question-
I do not have any race fairings... can I just run a naked bike on the track day?

you don't need fairings to run at the track. You just have to do some minor prep as described at the Z2 website...things like tape/remove your glass and disable or cover your brake light.
who else is going?
Wish I could go, its hard to believe that I haven't been to the track since Miller. Good news is, my new tires should be in next week!
It was a wonderful day at the track.... the rain waited to fall until the day was over.... heres some pics...
