just to get it out in the open early i was wondering what config was being run? C config again?
Great question !!! Now where is the answer??? ???
IM GOING!!! time to pop my track day cherry!
I know the configuration was being talked about at the last bike night. I'll email Jerome and tell him to answer this question on the forum.

Holy crap Russ. Relax on the configuration kick brother. Not all of us have the convenience of sitting in front of the computer all day. I will get ahold of Jerome and see what the plan is. I will be sure to let him know if we don't run C, to not expect you to come. M,kay cupcake? :-*
We are leaning towards C. Is there anybody out there who would like to try a different config?? It really depends on what the majority wants.
CORRECT A MUNDO !!!!!! :P If its not C ---you wont see me !!! :o
Other people are wanting to know as well. ??? It would just be nice to know the config before you purchase, and hopefully that wont change once the desion is made, and people have paid their money. ( thats all )
PS. I work with computers in my job , so I get to check the board often. SORRY honey , I should be more patient with you non confuser working peeps, My bad Andy. ;D
I personally wouldn't mind running a different config, I think varity is the spice of life. But my vote doesn't count, I don't even know if my bike will be a movin and a shakin by then...
Some people like their rut and just want to stay in it. Thats fine... ;)
SO , take a poll and lets see, than this will all be settled. Jerome doesnt like polls , but it may help in the decision process on which track to run.
I've got your RUT........ :-*

How about running the config that is going to be used for the Z2 Endurance race later in the season? ;D
And what configuration is that?
Yeah I don't know why that one turned out smaller. I noticed that too....??
I've heard the config Z2 will be running only include like 1/2 of the straight, but I don't know the rest. Z2 has a trackday this weekend at Thill so him and Zoran are probably on their way there. But maybe they can chime in when they get a chance.
WTH, is no one listening to me. When I talked to Greg he made it sound like you take turns 1-9 out and you come half way across the front straight and then cut over and go up the slide. Then follow into turn 10.
*scratches head* I'm not sure that would work. I'd have to look at the track in person. Not sure if you can turn right from the short cut onto the "mid straight".
The ZZ configuration will include half of the straight. Before the tower there is a spot to turn left. That will then lead you up the "slide" and into the second half of the peanut. From there the rest of the course is the same as "C". It cuts off a big portion of the track but it give you a chance to do what looks like a fun left handed uphill turn.
Andy, are you actually going to show up and ride at a SSA trackday?

Lick balls pal. I was at the first one but HAD to leave to go and pick up my engine. This last one I had a race at WERA.
Are you ever gonna grow a pair and come race??
.....and the answer is yes. ;D
WOW --you guys are ANGRY...... :P :-*

yep.lap time still over 2 minutes.
The only thing I can't figure out about the ZZ course is how they enter the track. The hotpits lets you out after the cutover to the hill.
cutover is so wide that part can be used for entering track.
boing! i'll be there!
and i can't, for the life of me, remember this dude's name... on the red CBR...

I thought you'd be the first one who'd like to know, I will be on a houseboat trip July 25th thru 28th. So your gonna have to hold it down for me again. Have fun boys and girls. And I promise you will see me at one of these SSA trackdays sometime. 8)
Has the decision been made as to which configuration will be run?
Thanks,
John

We will run Config C on Saturday and we
MAY run the configuration that Zoom Zoom is running for the races in August on Sunday. But we still have some things that need to get worked out before we say yes or no for sure. If we end up not running the Z2 config, we will do C both days.
russtman just phoned...he says 'C' both days! :D :D

looks good to me :) i really like turn 9A though.. which way is it ran? up or down the hoot-n-hollar?
neither, its up the slide and in to turn 9B. I personally would like to try that config.
It's going to be more headache for the club to run that configuration, with its track entry and merging traffic from opposite directions. Unless Zoran and/or Z2 bigwigs let us in on their "magic."

unless run clockwise...
I don't think they are running backwards. If so we will not be running it. It has been decided that going down the slide is not safe enough.

It's the highlighted section of the track. Hoot n Hollar isn't hightlighted.

That is why I said we are still trying to work things out. We will NOT run it with people coming to the entrance against traffic coming into turn one. I am thinking we could merge people through the wall before turn 1. But we have to work that out with RFR.
The main question should be, "What can the club run safely" based on the experience level of those who will be helping out. The club has gained very valuable experience with it's members running the full 'C' configuration. This next track day might be missing some key members from my understanding (Adiggity for one). So should we just consider the same old boring 'c' config or one of the standards that people have ridden before? I know it's boring, but liability for some of these more complicated configs might be too much. Sorry for posting this on the board, but I don't know of any other venue to voice a concern about running the Z2 course.

Bring a jackhammer, that wall is thick!

Don't apologize for posting that! There isn't anything wrong with posting your thoughts. That is what the forum is for. I just think if we have a problem within our own club, it should be resolved in a more personal and private matter that isn't available for the whole world to read. Or we could just have all of our girlfriends and wives become members and have our lovers quarrels through the forum. That way people that don't even know us can chime in on what they think is the best way to resolve our problems.
Now back to the subject that you mentioned. I think you bring up a good point. We (Jerome and I) were just thinking of mixing it up a little bit. But if the general consensus is that nobody wants change then I guess we'll do C both days. In my opinion, one of the great things about RFR is the possibility of running different configurations. A race track is a race track. They are all fun. It's good to spice it up a little here and there. If not then why do we ever try different tracks? Besides it teaches you how to adapt to different corners and how to play with bike set up. Hone your skills if you will. We shouldn't be afraid of change IMO. ;)
And again I will agree with changing up the config...
I am not against changing up the config in actuality. What I am concerned about is using the Z2 config with tricky exit/entrance to the track, and our ability to properly control that. So I guess to clarify my post, it's to run a config that utilizes the whole front straight.
I think the club should have 'safety' in mind first, and if we are not 100% sure that we can control the hot lane, or even understand it properly, maybe we should postpone that config until after we see how Z2 does it. Or, unless people at the last trackday that ran on Sunday think they have a good handle on it, and would be there BOTH days to help out.
Just my 2 drachma's :)
We shouldn't be missing any key players. Adiggity hasn't shown up yet ;D

just got my ticket for saturday( will buy my sunday ticket after payday ).....YEY!!!! see you guys there!!!! I CANT WAIT!!!! ;D
The negativity is overwhelming at some points in the discussion. The whole purpose was to see if anyone wanted to possibly run a different track configuration or had any other ideas.
The feedback from the members and participants who were involved was that the C configuration was the primary configuration to run this day and possibly others. We had some good feedback from experienced riders that have ridden in other configurations as well, and we are open for options to make the track days more fun and more challenging for the majority of the group, which will also make track days more frequent and affordable.
Because our notability as a group is increasing, we'd like to try out new things to make it more interesting for the riders.

I know Jerome was looking for pics, and a few members sent CD's to him. I was wondering who had supplied the pic that eventually got used. I hope the club got permission from you to use the pic before the poster was made ;D
it's no big to me dude... SSA is a club that i shoot for... SSA is more than welcome to use pics for promotional material... it's benefitial to more than just SSA to attract more riders. :)
