Canceled for 9:30AM and moved to 7:00 AM.

All [riding] skill levels C+ on up welcome.  This is a full day event.

Ride pace is C+, meaning we will travel at about 55 MPH or whatever the safe traffic speed is for the better part of the ride.  If you cannot ride beyond sunset or ride 25 MPH corners at 20 MPH, this is not your ride, simply because we'll be riding for about 6 hours r/t.  Between the ride and the hike, it's a full day.  And to get the group back to Reno under the safest of conditions stipulates a somewhat average pace.

Feather Falls is at the northwest tip of Lake Oroville, CA, and is the 3rd highest water fall in California.  Few barriers, great views and a virtual rain forest of a hike.  Temperatures should be relatively mild for this time of year too!

Hike distance is ~9.2 miles r/t and is known the world over.  It is less known than Yosemite, but still popular with foreigners from all parts of the globe.  There are Native American points of interest along the trails.  It is a long hike, but for adventure seekers, like myself, it's a great workout and I think it's worth it.   Elevation change is probably 500 feet in each direction, with most of it at the beginning and end of the trail.

Come prepared: backpack, water, food, shorts, bug spray (possibly), camera, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, etc.

There will be at least one more hike opportunity in 2014, Sierra Buttes.  You ride right past it, but you've probably never been to the top.  Oh yeah, we go there!
It's about taking in the most corners to your destination, not about the shortest, quickest route.
