Planned 8:30 AM kickstands up (KSU).* This is one of our shortest scheduled rides. We'll decide as a group if and where we want to lunch at.
RSVP** if you're planning on going. If you do not RSVP, the ride may be canceled even if you had planned on showing up the day of the ride. We'll depart on the ride as soon as everyone arrives and is ready, meaning, that if there are any newb riders, I will go over some of the key items they'll need to know.
North route ride. This is a minimum C level ride pace route, so all riders welcome. Meet at Starbucks or thereabouts (if parking is an issue).
As always, see 2015 SSA Ride Schedule (http://www.sierrasportbike.com/smf/index.php?board=4.0) for everything that is expected of you and what you can expect. *** Safety is paramount. ***
Hope to see you there.
* KSU dependent on when everybody is ready.
** RSVP - répondez, s'il vous plaît a.k.a. please reply.
I'm in.
Also open to making it a longer loop beyond Downieville if anyone else wants to.
I'm in as well. I'm good either way, longer loop or shorter original route.
I'm also planning on doing a post ride bbq and watching MotoGP (10 - Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix) after the ride if anyone on the ride cares to join.

What time does it air?
Edit: Wait, nevermind, I forgot about DVR technology.
I have the video pass so airs whenever i put it on.
They'll be running live right in the middle of our ride.
I'll be working on Saturday and I'm hoping there aren't any loose ends preventing me from having Sunday off. Ride, BBQ & MotoGP is always a winning combination I can't pass up. :thumbup
Hi guys, new member. I'd like to join you for this ride if you don't mind. Relocated to reno a couple years ago from Seattle . Been riding mostly on my own, but have gone out with another sport club on a couple rides. 15 yrs street experience ( mostly club riding , no track as of yet ), have the skills & gear, and always willing/looking to learn more. I ride a TL1000R, so you'll hear me coming 😀
So far, Downieville is my favorite local ride, as its close to home and has a pretty good combo of twistys & scenery. Just want to make sure I know where we're meeting up?
Donnie.
Come on out.
This ride leaves from the north meeting spot, Starbucks on N. McCarran
Starbucks
10190 N McCarran Blvd
Reno, NV 89503

Northerly rides are marked with a *N* Leave from Reno @ Starbucks on N. McCarran Blvd by IHOP off I-80
Southerly rides are marked with a *S* Leave from Maverik Country Store (Gas Station).
I am planning to come but am on call this weekend so will know better Sun morning.

You know me, I'm open to whatever.
If some riders want to join, they're welcome. If not, the ride back is just as fun as the ride there.

Isn't everything related to plumbing??? Funny how that works.
Sorry to hear on both accounts. Hope things work out so you can come along again soon.
Sweet, sounds like a nice group.

Word. I'm in.
I'm in too. But it'd like to meet up at Java Jungle. Can't we meet there just once and see how we like it? It's so perfect for us. Plus I'd like to show off my new front tyre on my SV. :clap
So kool to see a good group coming out. Looking forward to seeing the new faces and not the back of Dub's tiger
I'll meet wherever. Just wanna ride !!
I really wanna see that duck bill bike
Planning to bring two ladies along :) Monica and Laura are planning to join us. We will be getting into D'ville a little early for lunch so considering continuing to Grass Valley for lunch at Bubbas Bagels. Java Jungle? Thats the wrong direction for me. We could meet up after if you decide to meet there.
I'm not opposed to meeting at Java Jungle in general but this weekend might not be the best weekend to start, considering Hot August Nights will probably make navigating downtown a hassle.
I think we'll be okay it doesn't matter being the thinking it's the wrong direction it's all good we got motorcycles we don't have more traffic let's meet at Java jungle new place for coffee and then when we get done riding I'll stop by there for a beer it'll be awesome
plus we'll be there between 730 and 830 the Harley be anybody there there's nobody awake around there around that time I think you'll do good
How about this for an idea. For those who want to stick with the original location, do that. For those wanting to have Java Jungle in the morning, do that. Both groups meet in Sierraville by 9:30 AM. Everybody wins. And I don't even like coffee, so neither has much appeal to me, other than Dragon's place would be interesting to check-out in a morning setting. :P
SL and Rich, why don't you guys lead the 8:30 AM Starbucks group and Dragon & I will lead the Java Jungle group. We'll leave JJ prior to 8:25, so we'll be in your neighborhood by the time your group heads out.
I presume one or the other group will pickup Dub in Truckee at the round-about. And this will give a chance to any stragglers who missed us somehow to still get in the bulk of the ride and meet everyone.
9:30 AM in Sierraville at the mini-mart gas station, we usually stop at. :angel
RG will meet all @ mini mart in Sierraville. Good leadership move, GM. Keep everyone happy.
I was gonna get an early start and meet you guys in Reno to shoot the shit before we roll, but now I don't know where to go...
If Dragon's going to Java Jungle early for coffee (7:30-8:30), I'll chance the traffic and stop by for a coffee. Stopped drinking coffee at home so I cheat by having some out every now and then and rather have coffee there than Starbucks. And if you'd still like I can head over to meet Rich and them prior to 8:30...

Meet with us.
Problem.
Solved.
:evil1
ok
Three groups converging on Sierraville ;D Its like the Memorial Day trip all over! I have a few other people coming so we are planning to meet at *bucks at 8:30 on N McCarran. If that works better for anyone else plan to be there a little before 8:30.
Rough count, were up to 12 people now. Thats a BIG group for the SSA!
hard to believe any place in Reno would be out of our way my philosophy on a motorcycle is traffic what trafficut 730-8. Sit back watch the crowd for a while if anybody there which I doubt anybody will be there but I can show off my new front tire hopefully the guy with the duck bill bike will come down there so I can see that TL before we go and now I have a nice ride should be real cool.
Shoot 12 people for the SSA that sounds like the old days
hard to believe any place in Reno would be out of our way. looking forward to the ride tomorrow
Since this is my first ride with you guys, and I have no clue where Java jungle is, I'll be @ the Starbucks ! On the other hand, sounds like A Dragon really wants to check out my bike before we roll. Looks like I'll google Java jungle ☕️
funny that dragon has NOT SPOKEN TO any of us for 4 fucking years and he now wants to determine the meeting schedule.............
come on Jerome.............enough............
GM has done an amazing job of keeping this goofy thing together .........do not try to fuck it up..........
I'll be @ Java jungle around 7:30ish. Looking forward to this ride !!

Sorry you feel that way. I agree GM is doing an outstanding job. I'm not trying to step on anyone's feet. Just got into that midtown thing down town. Just like having some activities for us to do.
:rotflmao
Make sure that when you read RG's post that you throw in a southern drawl and an "I love you dad." :rotflmao
C U in a few Dragon. :hiding
Java Jungle. Across the street from the cathedral church. I believe it's on 1st street. Nearest cross street is Arlington.

#6 Thanks for posting Laura.
Made it back. Big group! Lost track of Mark, waited for awhile at hwy 49/20 intersection. Where did you go? Bubba decided to take vacation this weekend so the plan for a bagel sandwich was a bust. Three Fork micro brew in NV city ended up being a decent alternate. Cant believe we burned up 7.5hrs!
Sorry I couldn't make it. Tried to text one of you guys but my phone died also. Was out too late last night couldn't get in. Looks lik everyone did good, I'm jealous.
It's always a good day when the CHP gives out warnings :nana3
And Yuba Pass is always better the second time :doggy
I got home just shy of 10pm.. 381 miles for me. Left at 7am this morning.
It was a most excellent day to ride motorbikes, and a great bunch of folks to do it with. Thanks everyone.
Extra special thanks to Scott for hosting the post ride MotoGP viewing party. The tacos were outstanding. Jerome's floor salad was pretty good too.
The weather was markedly different down south. It had rained a little in Carson; some small puddles left. Heading south on 395 it sprinkled on me for just a quick minute. Then when I got down into Gardnerville I could tell it had rained hard and recently. The roads were soaked, big puddles, lots of spray. Chilly too. It was honestly a little perplexing considering the perfect weather we had been in all day. But I got home warm, dry, and happy. That's why I wear Gore-Tex everything.
I'll second that. Thank's SL for hosting yet again. It is more fun having other people there than just you. :P
Seriously though. Nice job yet again. After Robin gets me hitched, it'll be your turn. That will be one lucky, if not well fed woman!
Had a great time today. Ride was outstanding. Never get tired of Donnieville.
Donnie great to meet you and that bike. I truly enjoyed hearing that twin exhale.
Lunch was really healthy asset the Pine Cafe. Great local spot. Had a feeling like our midtown.
Thanks Scott for the hospitality. You did great till you tosed my salad.i thought that was supposed to be a good thing. Out left my feeling broke. :rainday But still a good time with birds of a feather. Thanks again for letting us in. And for letting my 14 year old be a part. He really needs that Man Cave stuff.
Rich and Monica so nice to ride with you again. Love the bikes. Especially Monica's naked R.
Hope to see missy of you at Squaw Valley village on Tuesday from 6 to 8. We only have a few more left.
THANKS AGAIN FOR THE GOOD TIMES. THIS IS WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT ;D
Even you Phat and Grumpy Tom. :drama
I don't expect ol' RG to be chiming any this early today. He was really carrying on last night about a whole lot of things.

Saw him and Lynn heading east from Downieville. Wills road with us as far as our excursion, then must have headed back himself. If you hit-up the South Pine eatery or whatever it was called that RG, Dragon and I ate at, get the Dijon Chicken sandwich and salad w/feta cheese dressing. Your taste buds will thank you.
Great day yesterday, even with all the different ride agendas it all seemed to work out in the end.
Thanks to those who came by after to watch MotoGP, good times. It's always more fun watching with others who are into it.
Fun ride! Thank you everyone, it was definitely a good way to spend a Sunday.
We have no kids this coming weekend so Sara should be able to join us as well if there's a ride going on (and if the weather cooperates). We haven't ridden most of the roads around here beyond Geiger, Mt. Rose, and the highways so getting out on more rides is an all-new experience for us. I look forward to many more!
Also, thanks for the sight-seeing and lunch spot discovery - I'm taking Sara to the Three-Forks Brewery for a BLT, that sandwich (and the beer) was awesome. ;D
Had a blast yesterday!! Great ride, and great group of people!! Looking forward to more riding & hanging out. Thanks Scott ( sp ) for hosting a great bbq & motoGP . I can only second Jerome's opinion, and agree it should now be called Donnieville !
oh and btw, fuck Dani Pedrosa.
And Honda Too
Man, what is it with you guys lately?!! So opinionated and foul mouthed. :-X
That shirt must have brought it out of us. ;D

Work screwed up my Sunday afternoon so am bummed I missed the bbq and race. Planning to watch it tonight!
Flamecrow, sorry you couldn't make it. Were wondering what happened to you.
:wtf You can't ride Kawasaki and be a fan of Honda Too. It's just not Natural. :respect
