I so wanted to do our scheduled May 27th ride, but obligations have changed between when I posted that ride up and today.  I cannot even do it tomorrow either, as much as I want to.  But no need to worry, obligations change, so I'll move it back into the rotation in a couple weeks.  Count on it.

In the meantime, I've been getting wind of perhaps riding on Monday, Memorial Day.  I've also gotten wind of a Color Guard ceremony honoring fallen veterans being held tomorrow at the veterans cemetery off of Keystone and 4th street, but I cannot find a listing for that event, unless it's for veterans only or something.  I do see there's one being held out in Fernley and a bunch of parades and such, but not this one particular event.

I'm in no rush to get started, but I do have to be back within a reasonable time window, so a shorter ride fit in there somewhere would be perfect.

Thoughts?

The weather should be awesome as well.

How about leave Scolaris @ 11:00, go over Rose, lunch in Incline, around lake to Spooner, down to Carson, over VC to home?  3 passes in 100 miles....

That would work for me!

See you at Scholari's @ 11 AM.  <== that's a Google Maps link with directions on where this Scholari's is located in relation to the north route departure point; basically 3.9 miles south on McCarren.

Scolari's Food & Drug Co, 4788 Caughlin Pkwy, Reno, NV 89519

Got some breakfast and wood staining to do between now and then.

Before we departed Reno we ran into some of RG's friends who told us that Fandango Casino in CC was having a rib cook-off, so RG had that on the agenda for lunch.  Traffic was relatively light the entire day, other than the usual packs of cars being dragged along by a lead car oblivious to the train he was leading.  Never so bad that we couldn't adjust for it.

Just beautiful weather for riding or being outside.

BBQ was just okay for RG who has much higher BBQ standards apparently.  I got a basic BBQ chicken sandwich, which was tender and delicious.

Had our thrill coming down 341.  Timing worked to our advantage, giving the slower HDs and cars packed in front of them a minute lead, slowing, another minute, slowing and again, until clear all the way to the bottom.

Got home to finish my chores.  Perfect.  Thanks RG!
