Well, it is sad on the one hand as it seems Honda is pulling the factory team, Corona and Erion support from the DMG/AMA mess. On the other hand, hopefully those NASCAR a-holes will go bankrupt or give up on ruining MC racing and we'll get a decent series back in place.

Cudos to Honda.  I can't polish a turd, either.
". . .Unfortunately participation in this series did not meet our racing goals and objectives.
meet our racing goals and objectives.
Regrettably the current AMA/DMG racing environment does not align with our company goals. Effective today 9/18/09, AHM will not be renewing contracts with Corona Extra Racing and will be terminating the on-site Road Race operations by 9/30/09"

FYI
The "+1's for Honda" came from two honda riders

Alan and Andy, I know this is somewhat troubling for you but i believe it's the best for your racing futures.

Sounds to me like so far it is all rumors. Just curious though, why do you say +1 for Honda? They didn't really have a true factory Superbike effort this year anyway. Hodgson just got back from injury and was on a "satellite" team and Zemke couldn't seem to get going on his 600. Just had a rough year. Not a reason to pull out I think.....must be politics.

Edit: After some more research, Honda did officially pull out of Superbike. The other classes are rumors so far.....to be continued, I'm sure.

Honda pulled out of F1 last year, so it could very well be an economic issue, or at least that's a major part of it. Plus the fact their superbike team doesn't seem competitive in AMA like they are in WSBK/supersport.

i suppose the +1 is for publishing the following
"the current AMA/DMG racing environment does not align with our company goals"

It doesn't meet my goals as a fan of motor-sports, but i have no influence with Daytona

Yeah Id pull out too if I the only view I had was an ass end of a Yamaha. Juust kidding my wife rides a Honda
MOTOISM my desease from wich there is no cure.

i see it like this.... picture old time MOB... Honda is that store refusing to pay bullshit weekly "protection fees".  They see and feel that they dont like the direction AMA is going after DMG took over and they are standing up for them selves. +1 for not setteling
