2009 YAMAHA APPRECIATION DAYS
Yamaha would like to invite you and your Trackday customers to the inaugural 2009 Yamaha Appreciation Days. In cooperation with Miller Motorsports Park, Yamaha Dealers and their Trackday customers will have the opportunity to ride the World Superbike Perimeter Course at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele Utah.
WHEN:
• October 24 & 25, 2009
WHO:
• West and Northwest Region Yamaha Dealers and their Trackday Customers. You must sign-up at your local Yamaha Dealer. If you are not on the dealer list, you won't be able to ride.
• You must have Trackday experience or be accomplished on the street since there will be no instructor led sessions
WHAT:
• It is a Yamaha Trackday so you must ride a Yamaha Sportbike with the following modifications
o Mirrors taped or (preferably) removed
o Head lights, brake lights, tail lights and turn signals unplugged or fuses removed or taped.
o Tires must be in good condition with plenty of tread. Only DOT street or roadracing tires
o Wheel weights taped and valve stems on
o No glycol-based coolants. If your coolant is green it has to be replaced with Water
• Must have a full set of one or two piece leathers, DOT Approved undamaged Helmet, Riding Boots and Gloves
• Must show proof of comprehensive medical insurance

Could you tell us how did you do?
I called michaels reno, carson and winnemuca and all didnt know what i was talking about.,then the guy that posted it from R6 central signed me up thru his dealer. , Were doing the world superbike course too!!!!! time to practice with my PS3. ::)

No. Way too late notice and I have a smashed foot.
Plus they'd probably deny my Yamaha racebike as not a sportbike by the letter of the law.

what are you guys going to run in your radiator? Its gonna be below freezing there at night.... are they going to check if you have coolant?
yeah i noticed that it was going to be pretty cold, and i am hoping that they dont check the coolant. otherwise im not sure what to do.

I'll bring some water wetter just in case. Besides, water wetter does a perfectly fine job. I've had my R6 run it during cold winter nights (when it was still street focused) and no problems so far.
Yeah! Definitely I can't go with you guys. :'( I hope you guys have a lot of fun there. :)
Miller is my favorite track. In my opinion is nicer then Laguna. Who doesn't know Miller yet, I'm sure will love it! Drive safe. ;)
SAT low is 34 deg, Sunday is 41 according to google...it shouldnt be too big of a deal., maybe we can put a blanket over the bikes or something. ;D

Ok guys, Here is the scoop:
I have literally spent all day on the phone and sending emails.
After going several routes i FINALLY managed to talk to the guy in charge. I called to make sure if Sid, Andrei. and myself were confirmed for this weekend, so i didnt make that long drive to find out that wasn't the case. Indeed we are confirmed for sure and that is relieving after a long day of chasing information. While on the phone i made sure to get Youngster confirmed, and he made that happen. I also asked him about Steve and possibly someone else. Steve and his friend are confirmed. I talked Scott (the guy in charge) into letting me bring a couple of others with me. That is how i was able to get youngster steve and his friend in. unfortunately i cant bring any more people, so if anyone else wants to go the only thing i can suggest is show up and hope they let you in. But for the people i mentioned above, we are in fo sho!!

Just wanted to let everyone know we had an awesome time, everybody stayed safe and enjoyed the great track. I want to thank Rick for getting us on the list so we could ride out there.
The first day was cut short because of rain, but the second day was really good. It was cold, but sunny so I was wearing a sweatshirt over my leathers the whole time. I got to ride the r6 and JBs r1 out there so that was cool to experience both the 600 and 1000. We ran the WSBK perimeter course.
Thanks to everybody who went, I had a great time and can't wait for next year to do it again.
+1000 on that!!! Hope I can do it again next year. IT WAS A BLAST!!!!
Rick and Andrei were FLYING!!!! I was able to do a 2:26 on sat., sunday was pretty much working on breaking and form, It felt slow., but was able to do a 2:27 without pushing. I guess slow and smooth, smooth is fast ... is true. ;D
bullocks, I was hoping you could comment in the general forum as it was an SSA adventure instead of a "trackday" as usual

I am kicking myself with my good foot. My bad foot healed enough to ride and my Yamaha had new rings and good tires. Not enough notice.

Part B of the videos from MMP starts at the start and finish. That lap ended at 2:17~18 with traffic at the end. Our buddy from R6C did a 2:09 but that bike is fully set up. I'm sure we can do better than that time (our time not the 2:09 lol).
